Barbara Jean (Maltby) Rose – Born August 4, 1949, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2020.
Loving mother of Kimberly S. Rose with surviving siblings; sister, Diane (Maltby) Wiggins, and husband George, and brother, Sewall B. Rent, and wife Gretta, along with several nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s deceased father, Francis D. Maltby served our country in the Navy and moved the family often as his assignments deemed during Barbara’s childhood. The family settled down in Palm Beach County in the late 1960s, where Barbara has lived the past 50+ years raising her daughter and serving as a respected figure in the hospitality management industry.
Always the life of the party, Barbara lit up every room with her contagious laugh and lit up all of our lives with her giant heart. Barbara was the perfect example of a strong, fiercely independent and fiercely loyal woman throughout her life, instilling those qualities in her daughter and many other young women whom she touched. She radiated generosity, warmth, and sense of humor in everything she did. Ever happy to share advice and opinions (of which she had many), she was a great listener, a great confidant, and the first person to turn to in a moment of need. Her vast love of life was surpassed only by her love of her family and close friends.
A Memorial and Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021,
