Connie was born in Montgomery, AL. She was the daughter of the Late Fred and Josephine Benson. She is survived by husband, best friend and soulmate Kenny Breeze, daughters, Keshia Hill, Tracy Benson Marsh (Leon), Grandchildren: Brittany Garrison, Brandon Littleton, Jazlynn Hill Russell (Andre), Zaire Marsh. Brother: Fred Benson (Stephanie), Sisters: Annie Pearl Benson, Georgia Mae Benson. Best friends: Valerie Thomas Neloms, Jean Toliver, Queenie Fox, Eula Berry, Leslie Wells Jackson (CA), Tosher Walker (CA)
Connie was a graduate of George Washington Carver high school and attended Los Angeles City College. In her professional life, she worked for the Radisson Hotel, Northern Telecom and as a Private Duty Nurse.
Connie will be remembered for her kindheartedness and pleasing personality. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home where she used the magic of her culinary skills to prepare sumptuous, tasty, and delicious meals of different cultures that would please the most discriminating palates. Some of Connie’s specialties were her famous seafood boil/gumbo, collard greens, and red velvet cake.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who had a love for family and zest for life. Connie’s spirit and character endeared her to everyone who meet her. She will most surely be remembered for being a beautiful savvy and stylist dresser.
