Costanzo Robert Cavorsi: January 5th, 1947- January 18th, 2023
Costanzo Robert Cavorsi, known by those who loved him most as “Chip/Stan”, peacefully passed away on the morning of January 18th, 2023 in Palm Beach County, FL. Chip was born in the small town of San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy and immigrated to the U.S in 1956 at the age of 9. Son of the late Matteo Cavorsi and Grace Mangiacotti, he was the eldest of 5 children and subsequently took on the role of big brother and protector that he carried with him for the rest of his life. Chip spent most of his childhood and teenage years living on Main Street in Irvington, NY. He attended Irvington High School and was involved in just about every sport and club there was to offer. He made plenty of friends and many great memories there and graduated with the class of 1965. Chip then served bravely in Vietnam and returned back to the US to marry Chris Moro in the Tarrytown Centennial Wedding of 1970. Chip and Chris were married for 52 wonderful years and raised a beautiful family of three children- David, Clifford and Christie. Chip received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport and spent most of his career working in the wire and cable industry. Chip’s many career advancements brought him and his family across the US from California to Indiana to Rhode Island and eventually to Georgia. Chip’s last position was as Director of the Energy Division at CME Wire and Cable in Suwanee, GA. He retired in late 2016. Chip was a novice food critic and enjoyed cooking, listening to “oldies”, spending time on the golf course, taking care of his house and those he cared about, and watching Purdue and Clemson football from the comfort of his own couch. He will be remembered for his quick wit and wisdom, his dry sense of humor, and his way with words. Chip was selfless; he always put his family and friends above himself and he will always be remembered for the great impact he made on those he loved and those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Moro-Cavorsi (FL), his children David Cavorsi and Christine Cavorsi (FL), Clifford Cavorsi and Nina Cavorsi (GA), Christie Barber and James Barber (GA), four siblings: Marie Occhipinti (PA), Joe Cavorsi (NY), Elvira Cavorsi (PA) and John Cavorsi (PA) and a great big extended family who loves him dearly.
A celebration of life is currently being planned for June of 2023 in Irvington, NY. Details will be provided once planned
