In Loving Memory
Jean Ann Bancks
April 11, 1956 – 2025
Jean Ann Bancks, a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 27, 2025. Jean devoted her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse—a calling that reflected her deep compassion and steady kindness. Her empathy, warmth, and generosity touched countless lives, both in her profession and within her wide circle of friends and family. An accomplished athlete, Jean proudly completed an Ironman triathlon in Maui—a remarkable achievement that spoke to her strength, determination and love of swimming. The water was her joy and peace. Jean was the mother of Edward Thomas Smith and his wife, Erin, and the grandmother of Eddie and London. She is also survived by her twin sister, Joan Supplee, her sisters, June Schneider and Linda Nickless, and many dear friends from Jacksonville and her Cascades community in Delray Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by her brother, Hank Spinelli and her parents Henry and Janet Spinelli. Jean will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her loyal companion—her beloved cat, Willow. Her laughter, strength, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date in Delray Beach, Florida.
“Her laughter and love remain eternal.”
