In Loving Memory of Jerome James Broz
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome James Broz, who passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 69.
Jerome was born on February 28, 1957, in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he was raised by his loving parents, Sophia and Edward Broz, both of whom preceded him in death.
Growing up in a hardworking family, Jerome developed a strong work ethic at an early age. He spent much of his life in the restaurant business, following in the footsteps of his parents, who owned, The Famous, a beloved family restaurant that opened in 1947. Later, Jerome proudly helped operate Bohemian Gardens, a family-owned restaurant that served the community until 2011.
Although the restaurant business was an important part of his life, Jerome's heart was always drawn to the ocean. For a time, he left the family restaurant to pursue his dream of living and working in the Bahamas, where he operated his own fishing charter business. There, he spent his days doing what he loved most; fishing, diving, swimming, and embracing life on the water. It was also in the Bahamas where he met his wife, Jill. Together they built a beautiful life and shared 34 years of love.
Jerome had a deep love for the outdoors and especially for the ocean. Whether he was fishing offshore, diving beneath the waves, swimming, grilling for family and friends, or smoking a meal to share with loved ones, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was also a devoted supporter of Special Olympics, where he volunteered and proudly cheered on his daughter, Katherine, a special-needs adult athlete.
Those who knew Jerome will remember his friendly nature, outgoing personality, adventurous spirit, and unwavering work ethic. Above all, Jerome was a caring husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife, Jill Broz; his daughters, Katherine and Isabelle Broz; and his siblings, Barbara, Cathy, and Eddie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jamie, who all played important roles in his life.
For the last 14 years of his life, Jerome courageously battled cancer with strength and resilience. Jerome's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he built, and the countless memories he created both on land and at sea. His love for the ocean, his dedication to his family, and his joyful approach to life will never be forgotten.
Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, carried on with every ocean breeze, every family gathering, and every story shared around the table.
May he rest peacefully in the arms of God and sail on calm seas forever.
