John Jeffrey Davis

John Jeffry Davis (Jeff), 93, died peacefully in the care of Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach County in Boynton Beach, Florida on October 5, 2023. Born on August 20th, 1930 in in Columbus, Ohio, Jeff was raised in Upper Arlington Ohio by his parents, Louesba (Galbreath) and Harlan O. Davis Jeff attended Columbus Academy in Gahanna, Ohio graduating in 1948. He ·was a marvelous athlete, earning multiple letters in football and baseball.He then attended Princeton University and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1953 with a degree in Finance . Jeff started his lifelong career in insurance at Case and West Insurance Agency, where he was one of the first agents to write a million-dollar policy on a horse. That horse, Citation won the Triple Crown in 1948. In 1955, he married the late Carol Stevens, with whom he had daughters Lynn, Julia, Karen, and Betty. In 1971, Jeff married the late Virginia Perry 'Ginnie", mother of Claudia, Susie, John. Together they had Jenny. Jeff served as President of the Young Businessmen's Club of Columbus and was a very active board member of both Scioto Country and The Golf Club. Upon Jeffs retirement in 1995, Ginnie and he moved to Boynton Beach FL , where they had a winter home at Quail Ridge Country Club He was on various boards and served 12 years as the Chairman of the Insurance
Committee. With their love of golf Jeff and Ginnie, won several mixed championships and Jeff , Won Stroke Play twice. In 2011, Jeff married Ann Macauley Anderson, whom he met through mutual friends at Quail Ridge. They enjoyed, golf, dinners out vvith friends, competitive games of gin rummy, and watching many sporting events on TV Despite failing eyesight later in life, Jeff remained an enthusiastic sports fan, and was a dedicated supporter of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Miami Marlins. Jeff is predeceased by sister Betty Kieft (Donn), daughter Karen and grandsons Daniel and MitchellJeff is survived by daughters Lynn, Julia (Jim), Betty and Jenny (Scott) and stepchildren Claudia (David), Susie (Tim), John (Julia), Scott (Donna),Bonnie (Subo) and Tom (Carmen) as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blum Pavilion at Bethesda Hospital, Baptist Hospital Foundation
