Julie L. Frohlichstein, 94, Dies September 1, 2026

Julie L. Frohlichstein, 94, passed away on September 1, 2026, after a long and richly lived life shaped by curiosity, conviction, family, service, and a genuine interest in the world around her.

Julie approached life with an active and inquisitive mind. She cared deeply about the issues of her time and believed in being involved rather than simply observing from the sidelines. Political activism and community service were meaningful parts of her life, expressions of both her convictions and her desire to contribute to the people and communities around her.

Her interests reached far beyond any single area. Julie had a deep appreciation for the arts, a love of travel, and a natural curiosity about people, places, ideas, and culture. She valued experiences that expanded her view of the world and continued to engage with life intellectually and socially throughout her many years.

At the center of her life was family. Julie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Ben Frohlichstein, who passed away in 1995. They shared a deep and devoted love and built a life together centered on family, shared experiences, and enduring affection. His memory remained an important presence in Julie’s life throughout the years that followed.

Julie also had a remarkable capacity to think about the people around her. She embraced life on her own terms, yet remained attentive to the needs, feelings, and well-being of others. Those who knew her will remember not only her intelligence and independence, but also her thoughtfulness, her engagement with the world, and the genuine interest she took in the lives of others.

She leaves behind her two sons, Alan Frohlichstein and his wife, Diane, and David Frohlichstein and his wife, Carol, along with her three cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Alan Frohlichstein, Jason Daniel Frohlichstein, and Rachel Lee Frohlichstein.

Julie’s 94 years encompassed extraordinary changes in the world, yet she remained curious, engaged, and interested in what came next. Her family will remember the strength of her convictions, the sharpness of her mind, the depth of her love for Ben and her family, and the full and purposeful way in which she lived her life.
