Penny Gail Childers David of Lake Worth, FL passed away peacefully in hospice on April 13, 2023. Penny was born July 8, 1954 in Roanoke, Virginia to Vernon Edsel Childers and Edith Lorraine Howell Childers, both of whom preceded her in death.

Penny and Fred enjoyed saltwater boating for many years having traveled frequently to the Bahamas, the Keys and other wonderful destinations. They then switched to freshwater boating and enjoyed their vacation home in Okeechobee, Fl which gave them tremendous joy. Penny said that was her “happy place.”
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Penny. She loved a quiet morning on the patio bird watching and taking photos of nature. Most of all, Penny was an avid dog lover. In later years, she and Fred raised Rottweilers, one of which won a breed championship. Throughout her adult years, dogs were her “babies” to which she was a loving mother. Penny was preceded in death by her loving pets, Windy, Breezy, Rhett, Scarlet, and Luke.
A celebration of life will be held in the future, the date to be determined.
