Rene Joseph Thuot

Rene Joseph Thuot passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 11, 2022 at the age of 74. He was born August 9, 1948 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was the son of Roger and Olive (Roy) Thuot. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He resided in Worcester County for most of his life until retiring to Florida in 2016. He was active in the community serving on boards/committees and coaching youth sports. Rene worked in the construction and plumbing supply business for many years.

He leaves behind his loving and beloved wife of 50 years, Kathie (Kirouac), along with two sons Lawrence (significant other Melanie) and Marc (wife Nicole and her children). Also, six granddaughters who were the lights of his life, and he will always be remembered as Pépère. He is also survived by his two sisters Denise DeAmicis and Suzanne DesRosiers, a brother Robert, one niece and three nephews, his sister-in-law Karen Kirouac and a foster son, Richard Allard and his family.

He was an avid golfer, enjoyed supporting all the New England sports teams, and loved every genre of music. He was a fun-loving guy who loved to laugh. Rene will forever be remembered for his sincerity, selflessness, loyalty and quick-wit to those he cared for. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
