Dr. Richard Osias passed away August 28th at the Boca Regional Hospital after a short illness at the age of 79. Dr. Osias, formerly of New York City is survived by his wife Nancy, daughters Alexandra Kimberly and Alexandra Elizabeth, sisters Joan Osias Hoffman and Barbara Osias Martell and his two grandchildren, Teagan and Truman. Dr. Osias received his doctoral degree from David Lipscomb University and previously attended Columbia University. While Dr. Osias had varied interests including power boating and international travel, his greatest passion was in developing properties, homes and hotels. Among his chief successes, developing the Cities of Lauderhill, North Lauderdale, FL and Deer Park Long Island, NY.
Dr. Osias also co-authored South Florida's Building Code and wrote as a columnist for the New York Herald Tribune and the New York Daily Mirror.
Of his many philanthropic interests, Dr. Osias was a major contributor to the NY City Police, Pine Crest Preparatory School, University of Miami, Boys and Girls Clubs Broward County, National Association of Homebuilders, and the Smithsonian Institute. He produced various musical acts including Miami's KC and the Sunshine Band.
Dr. Osias was a member of the Cannes Island Yacht Club, Canary Islands Yacht Club, and the Tryall Golf and Country Club. Dr. Richard Osias is the only son of Harry and Leah Schank Osias
