It is with great love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Russell Meister, affectionately known as Bobby to his family and friends, who passed away in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Bobby was born in Mansfield, Ohio to Walter Meister and Bette Davies. He attended Lake Worth High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. His time in the service was a point of quiet pride throughout his life.
Bobby is survived by his daughters, Beth, of Port Saint Lucie, and Amy, of Palm Beach Gardens. He was the devoted and adoring grandfather to Triston, Colton, Avery, and Megan, and his favorite role in life was undoubtedly that of Grandpa. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and rarely missed a football or lacrosse game, and he cheered them on with unwavering pride and joy.
He is also survived by his sister Elaine Bowness, half-brother Mark Meister, half-sister Pam Meister, and stepbrothers Randy Meister and Dean Meister, along with many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
Bobby will be remembered for his big heart, generous spirit, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family. His laughter, stories, and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, no memorial service will be held. Those who wish to honor Bobby’s memory may make a donation in his name to the Fisher House Foundation, which provides comfort homes for the families of veterans receiving medical care.
We could not have asked for a better father, grandfather, or brother. He will be missed every single day, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
